Mid-career academics in the management field (typically tenured associate professors) often face numerous demands and temptations in their work and careers that compete for their time and energy. They are also facing a challenge in transitioning from proving their competence as academics to defining their identity and impact through research and leadership. In this seminar, Fang Lee Cooke will share her observations and personal experience of building an academic career, including how to develop one’s research program organically through international collaborations, and how to engage in academic service roles externally to gain experience, connections, and identity.
